Fish & Bacon recipe
|
|
Heya, Today cooked Dory fish fillet & Bacon
Marinate wif salt, pepper, herbs (i used thyme, oregano, basil but you can put anything you want I guess) and put bacon on top and bake it
ideally shud haf used lemon juice as well to marinate, but tak jadi...couldn't get any lemon...
But anyhow sedaps oso....
Thing was, I didn't dab dry the fish fillet and bacon... so it was a bit watery, but if it was dried properly, you can hear the bacon sizzling......... Fuyooooooo sedaps siut!!!!!!!! Really loved this dish, not too jelak... but yums because of the bacon... fuyooooo.... TRY TRY....hahahah!! got it from my pal Louanna one...
Comments from Louanna -
yeah... put this together by accident during christmas...
plus garlic, olive oil also. trick is to blend the marinate (salt, pepper, herbs, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil) together so u get to taste it before u slap it on the poor fishy..
dun put too much salt coz bacon's salty..
hmm.. thot of melting some cheese on top too.. well, only for cheesy ppl, haha...
Muslim friends - alternatively you could put a very thin slice of marinate beef.. I dunno... I'll check it out k....

Siam Kitchen
|
|
Hepi Valentine's Day!
I celebrated wif my cuz sis Vivien and her hubby Larry.
We had lunch at Siam Kitchen in Mid Valley Boulevard (I think that place is called Boulevard... outside)
Previously, the only place I 'd gone to have food was at Kim Gary's which is also there...
So it was a surprise to eat in a 'thai' restaurant.
Food wuz yumz!!! Had fried garoupa served with 3sauces, Thai green curry (chicken) and a veg and soft shell crab wif mayo... Yumssss!!! The fried garoupa meat was taken out and fried into fillet (boneless) so it was nice and easy to eat... no need for the hassle and worry about bones. Seemed like the thing to order as the tables near us ordered as well... Will post some pics soon... Cuz Viv were like starring at me.. But HEY!! I'm Malaysian la.... hahahahah!!!! ok ok...walking human garbage truck!!! or rather, a Malaysian who just can't resist taking pictures of good food and loading them up on fotopages... hahahaha!!!!

Fish & Co
|
|
Hey Hey Heyyyyy!!! Had lunch wif two good pals at Fish & Co, Sunway Pyramid (this is my 5th visit hehe!!). Walking walking towards it, the walkway was pretty dark.. We were soooooooo scared they were closed for Chinese New Year....
Walked in... we were the first customers of the day. I was ecstatic... Why? cos first customers= no need to wait so long for the food ma... keke!
Elis has the classic fish and chips, I had the Dory fish with sweet and sour and Char had the Coriander Catch. Their fish and chips are the best I've tasted (in Malaysia, among all the other fish shops)
Other items worth having is the teriyaki salmon, Stingray with black pepper and their seafood platter - Enough to feed a horse!!
A word of thanks to Jollivet for taking me there!!

Spice Road
|
|
Does the food above entice you ?? Am in the midst of writing the review... hahahaha!!!
Pam
First up on the list- Spice Road, a new food outlet that's new on the block. Serves persian, spicy oriental (indian/chinese), the masala territory..
I'm not a person who loves spices and stuff, but this place is really good. Been there twice in a week.
First time, went wif two friends. I was sooooo excited coming here, was even taking pictures of the entrance and all (so you get to view it laaaa) My two friends were like... duhhhh... haha!
Walked in, we were greeted by the friendly staff who ushered us to our seats... ok lar... not too bad impression of that place.
We had drums of Spice Road (their signature dish), beef vindaloo, manque miramar (squid), Labanese ta wook, aubergine and garlic naan.
You've gotta try the Drums of Spice Road. I was ecstatic when I took my first bite. Another favourite of ours was the Labanese ta wook which is served on a layer of top quality rice (ok I'm not a professional food critic here ok....) But it was really yummy. that's my pal's Oi Leng's favourite dish. The squid was a bit chewy (order this if you wanna exercise your jaw) but the stuffing was really good... I asked one of the staff what was the stuffing and found that it was a mixture of crab meat, fish,prawn... really nice stuffing!
The aubergine turned out really yummy. Beef vindaloo was a bit spicy, and the meat wasn't tender.
Garlic naan was superb.... I'm not a garlic fan but this was incredible. can fight wif another place in SS2 that serves really nice naan....
Anyway....For dessert we had Kulfi which is Indian ice-cream. I can't recall how the restaurant manager Siva described it...It has loads of spices and very saffron-ny... So if you love spices and the taste of saffron, give this a go.
My second visit with another different batch of frens, my friend Sabrina LOVED the ambience and the Indian classical music. Even before the food hit the table she was already totally mesmerised with the place.
And the aroma from the kitchen really whet our appetite. This time around we had the help of Siva who recommended the dishes. We ordered Dinggri Shaslic, Chicken Vindaloo, aubergine, drums of spice road, and served with Dum briyani and garlic naan.
Sabrina loved to haf Indian food and when she had the briyani rice she was applauding it,branding it the best that she's tasted... ... She was more ecstatic than me abt the place there. haha!
The Dinggri Shaslic is button mushroom stuffed with chicken and lamb and coated with a batter and deep fried. AWESOME!
Chicken vindaloo was delicious too, unlike the previous time when the beef was a bit hard.
hmmm... *wat else to write huh...*
Good news for Muslim friends - this place is pork free-HALAL!
Spice Road is open from 7days a week, serves lunch from 12 - 3. coffee &snacks 3-6 and dinner at 6 -10
On Fridays and Sat it's open til 11 pm
SO Head on down to Spice Road, at Wisma Rohas Perkasa, Jalan P.Ramlee kuala Lumpur.Their contact number is: 03-20315011
Hope you enjoy the food there, and do drop by back here to give your comments. Thanks!
