Touched down in Penang in the afternoon. My kind host took me to this food court for dinner... yummy!!!!!

Some of the food taste good.
Juist sharing my experience. The "Teluk Kumbar Mee Udang" stalls is a cut troat hawker. 1 bowl of noodle cost you RM 10, whereas the sign shows RM 3.50. This is too much.

The duck rice price cost is RM 9 per person (just duck and rice) during week days. Weekend, RM 4.50. Trust me. You can try out if you think I am lying.

halo, James ... please look carefully on the sign for prices on the "Teluk Kumbar Mee Udang" widen up your eyes it was written rm 10.00 for the big plate, and 6 for the small plate ... the RM3.50 is the curry mee DUH .... use some eye more will help ... i was a regular hang out on northam and duck rice is also 1 of my favorite but they not sell RM9 la ... but only RM7.50 it is the same you eat on weekend or weekday ... you said your're not lying, but i guess not ..... Kluang Station, at 1Utama new wing

How it looks like outside
My 'Hainanese chicken chop
my pineapple 'juice' + aunty kopi
View all 4 photos...
Pal's mom suggested to bring another aunt there. I was like... aiyoooooooo of all places... shud haf taken her to like....
Banana leaf ?? Dimsum in Uptown (I haf yet to review that place hoh... nice fresh dim sum... wait lar... next year ?)

OKAY... So went to this Kluang station lar... I heard about it somewhere in Nov when my boss wife mentioned about it...She's this proud Kluang gal, so ... as usual if you're proud of your kampung and there's something wif your kampung name on it, you sure will heboh heboh kan and love patronising the place.

Okay lor, since the aunties wanted to meet me there... I went lar... Now, I haf no idea where the heck this 'Kluang station' is....
But tried scanning my memory to see if I'd seen it... nope... definitely not on the top floors... Tembak lar.... ok...
It's you're walking on the Lower ground floor (near... Crabtree & Evelyn?? Hang Ten ??) head towards Giant. Now....
Giant you haf to turn left....right??
Kluang station is situated on the RIGHT... Turn right. If you're unsure, look at the floor directory, it's lot No. 337 (comfirm) It's opposite Bread Story.

Walked in, the two aunties orady having their food. ASM having some curry laksa noodle, AE having nasi lemak. I asked both of them whether it's any good .... AE Complained fried chicken too dry, ASM gestured me to try the laksa... it's like a mix of asam laksa+curry laksa... Bleaghhhhh Quickly sipped my 'pineapple juice' and settled to order the Hainanese Chicken Chop which AE recommended, saying it's hot stuff, loads of people ordered it.

Pineapple 'juice' ... FAIL lar... I was expecting like... JUICED pineapple... HALLOOOOO.... IT WAS canned pineapple cubes(or rings...they cube it up) and syrup water.
I ALSO CAN DO LARRRRRRR... Hiyoh....
Fail oredi... The hainanese chicken chop was ok ok lar.....not superrrr nice... but bearable and filled my tummy.

sorry lar..... no pic of the laksa and nasi lemak as they were already eating halfway... so unappetising... lolx.....

Overall... hmmmm I wouldn't RECOMMEND ANYONE to go to these kinda shops lor.... two weeks ago I asked my Cousin bro... Oi... why you like Uncle Lim's meh?? he said... no lar... wat else to eat? I'm like....
WHY PAY FOR A FRIGGING RM 3.00 ??for TWO PIECES OF TOASTED KAYA BREAD
I fail to comprehend why people these days are willing to pay... for half boiled eggs at like... 2.50 ? yohhh..... Come lar.. I do for u.... sighzzzzzzzzz

Steamboat at home.... yumsssssss

SOUP!!
usually, we will use pork bones to boil the soup....as a base. And then use Chinese cabbage... SUPERB!!!!
*u can also use beef stock or chicken carcass*

SteamboatBasically, anything goes lar.. But we usually use meat - fish fillet's yumz.. U can buy dory fish fillet and cut it into the size of two of your fingers. (do not cut smaller because fish meat breaks easily.)
Then fish balls/meat balls. .... chicken fillet... ohhhhhh Mushrooms (canned or oyster)
veg...cabbage/bayam/any leafy veg....
taufu....if u love crabs/prawns/squid, u shud put that in as well.

*note: do not overcook crabs/prawns/squid.. the meat will not be nice anymore.becomes rubbery....
A good tip is when the soup's boiling, put all the stuff in it, and then wait for it the bring to boil again, then quickly scoop them up to eat.

Sauceit's up to u to use whichever sauce realli....
We usualli use soy sauce, bottled chilli wif garlic (a fave wif Dad)
